Geopolymer injection foundation reinforcement on private house stabilising sinking structure

Problem

Cracks developed in the exterior wall at one corner of the house.

Cause

The foundation was constructed on loose organic medium sand with high compressibility. Soil compaction and gradual decomposition of organic material caused differential settlement.

Deep geopolymer injections were performed beneath the affected foundation corner to:

Densify loose organic soil
Increase load-bearing capacity
Transfer structural loads to the deeper dense silty sand layer
